While we were in Oregon, Joel and I left the kiddos with my parents and drove to Portland for a fun little mini vacation within our vacation! Unfortunately I didn't take any good pictures of us because we were too busy shopping the Nordstrom and IKEA sales (such great timing on our part!!).
We stayed at Hotel Modera. It was modern and hip and oh so Portland-ish!
On our way home we stopped at Voodoo Donuts. Yes, that is a maple bar with bacon on it. I thought it was going to be amazing because I really love bacon, but instead I found myself being grossed out by the giant meat slices on my perfect maple bar delight. So instead my favorite was the fruit loops one.
We also stopped by the Portland LDS temple which was even more beautiful than I had expected, but unfortunately it was closed for maintenance so we just had to look from outside the gate!
Thank you again mom and dad for watching the girls while we were gone!!

our trip to Oregon
Well I finally decided to come back to this poor neglected blog. We've been super busy with all sorts of things, but nothing worth blogging about ;)
Our trip to Oregon was a blast!! The girls loved being the center of attention and never being bored.
At the park with Nana...
Joel was also very happy to go play at the park ;)
The weather was just perfect! Sunny, no humidity, and just perfect all around. They loved playing in their turtle pool outside. Finally got a picture of those teeth!
Loving their super funny Uncle Brian!
Snuggling with Grampa before bed:
Grampa took them on lots of super long walks around the neighborhood showing them off to every neighbor friend who happened to be outside! LOL
And last but not least, their first ride on the lawnmower (while mommy and daddy were having the best baby-free mini-vacation in Portland...more on that later!)
It was seriously the best trip ever and we were very sad to leave! (Thankfully our friends at United knew how much fun we were having and so they decided to cancel our flights so that we got an extra day...hah hah!)

| As you can tell, the hose was the main attraction... |
